This morning was the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center 5K. Cloudy morning, a little cool, ran a PR 26:11, hauling the first mile, a little surprised by the first turn-around, keeping up with the big boys. It was the first annual run, and was remarkable well-organized. Small turnout for the run, but enthusiastic group.
It became even more important that I run yesterday, when my friend Hartley called to tell me that her father had been through successful prostate cancer surgery at MSKCC, and it looks as though he is on the road to recovery. Kristina's grandmother and Wendy Rives were also treated there, even though both succumed to their illnesses.
A few errands today, laundry, re-packing, early to bed, 8:27 flight out of JFK to Pitt tomorrow morning.
